Turnkey Portal Welding Systems
The company "Intellectual Robot Systems" offers industrial enterprises in Russia various options for production automation and robotization aimed at increasing output and improving product quality. One of our focus areas is the implementation of portal systems.
Portals are often used for welding large massive structures where automation is not limited to a single robot. The main advantage of a portal is its large working area, which provides greater flexibility when processing beams, frames, car bodies, and other large-scale products. Thanks to our accumulated experience in robotics, our team has sufficient expertise to implement these systems turnkey.

-
Our turnkey solution includes:
- Assessment of your technical specifications with possible on-site visits and involvement of our specialists (technologists, design engineers, welders)
- 3D design of the future complex with welding process simulation
- Manufacturing, delivery, and commissioning of the portal along with technological tooling and welding equipment (welding power sources, tracking and positioning systems, flux feeding systems, etc.)
- Personnel training and process development (if necessary)
Various Portal Configurations

U-shaped portals
High Structural Reliability
The portal structure is reliable and allows placement directly on the portal of both the robot and the power source, filter unit, as well as wire drums. Energy transmission is provided via an energy chain mounted along the wall or floor. The optimized mechanical design of the portal beam ensures vibration-free operation. Console movement is carried out using a gear-rack pair. All guides are equipped with high-precision linear rails. Adjustable guide rollers on both sides of the portal ensure accurate movement in the required direction.
The drive of the movable console is shown in the figure. The gearbox is of planetary-wave design. A motor is used as the drive engine, integrated into the control system of the entire complex.

The mobile portal can move along the axis of the welded product. Horizontal movement is carried out using a gear-rack pair. The gear is driven by a drive connected to a gearbox. The transverse movable trolley moves along rail guides mounted on the linear axis frame. Carriages are installed on the base. Rotation-to-linear motion conversion is performed via the rack transmission. The drive gear shaft transfers motion to the rack.
