The goal of any manufacturing process — is the production of high-quality products. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to comply with technology and strict requirements at every stage of production. Since deviations can accumulate, the final part may ultimately become defective. When performing manual welding, a human operator can compensate for defects such as edge misalignment, varying joint preparation, and track overall changes in part geometry caused by thermal distortion, adjusting the oscillation amplitude as well as the welding speed accordingly. In robotic welding, seam tracking systems are used to detect and compensate for various deviations in the spatial position of the weld seam. Such systems make it possible to accurately control the trajectory of the robotic torch in accordance with changes in the seam position, both during welding and prior to it, since even a constant minor displacement of the workpiece relative to the positioning device would otherwise require reprogramming the welding robot each time. Control of the welding arc and seam quality can remain with the operator. It is safer and more convenient to do this using a video monitoring camera, which can be installed on the robot.
