Contaminated water containing solid particles is fed directly from the finishing machine into the centrifuge via a pumping station. A pre-filter screen collects large contaminants at the inlet to the collection tank. A built-in agitator prevents premature settling of solid particles at the bottom of the collection tank. Contaminated water is continuously fed into the rotating centrifuge drum by a compressed-air diaphragm pump. The high centrifugal force generated by the rotating drum ensures that even very fine and light solid particles are deposited on the drum walls as solid sludge. The cleaned liquid is collected by an outlet pipe and returned to the finishing machine. After a set time, the sludge can be removed from the drum. In automatic centrifuges, the sludge is removed mechanically by a scraper knife that peels it from the drum walls. Depending on the required water volume, multiple finishing machines can be connected to a single process water recirculation system.
