In arc spray spraying, two identical or different types of wire-form spray materials are melted in an arc and deposited onto the prepared surface of the workpiece using an atomizing gas, such as compressed air. Arc spraying is a highly productive wire spraying process that can only use electrically conductive coating materials.
Using nitrogen, argon, or nitrogen-oxygen mixtures as atomizing gases can significantly prevent material oxidation, thereby achieving specific coating properties.
